She has worked in a homeless shelter for many years, volunteering her time whenever they needed her to take care of the homeless and has even worked for meals on wheels for several years, delivering hot meals to the elderly. Karen Hartstein greatly enjoys working with children and has worked for different places caring for children. She had the opportunity to work in day care at congregation bnai amoona where she worked as a assitant teacher for 2 years olds. Karen Hartstein also worked at a daycare at the JCCA and worked as a camp counselor and taught tennis. When it comes to sports, Karen Hartstein is very talented and gifted. She was one of the best tennis players in the region during high school and will still beat you in a match today.
